Job Summary
Garbage Loaders collect and load refuse on garbage trucks and perform other laboring tasks such as cleaning trucks and materials
Take note – this is repetitive lifting role outdoors.
Other Details
Salary: $22.00 /hour
Location: TBD – all over Ottawa (starting off near Hawthorn near Walkley Rd)
Hours/Days of work: 6:30am Start time / Part-Time with the possibility of Full-Time
Job responsibilites
Job Duties
- Collect and load on garbage/waste trucks
- Clean garbage trucks with water hoses and other cleaning devices
- Perform other maintenance duties as required
Job requirements
Job Qualifications
- 1 to 3 months relevant experience
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Must be able to show a good track record of previous employment stability and workplace reliability
- Physically able to perform physical and repetitive tasks during an extended period of time such as lifting at least 30 pounds
- Capable of standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time; and dealing with unpleasant odors and vapors
- Able to work in an outdoor environment at varying temperature levels
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to comply with health and safety policies and company standards
- Fall Protection, WHMIS and Back Care training (provided if necessary)
- Criminal background check not mandatory
