Summary

Security Screening Personnel  are tasked with assessing and verifying the suitability of individuals seeking security clearances. This involves conducting background checks, reviewing personal and professional histories, and ensuring compliance with security regulations. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. These personnel play a crucial role in maintaining national security by ensuring that only qualified individuals gain access to classified information and secure facilities.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Job responsibilites

  • Receive and process personnel security screening requests for departmental and private sector employees;
  • Receive, record and process fingerprints requests to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for verification in Canada and abroad by using a digital electronic fingerprinting system, namely Real Time Identification (RTID);
  • Communicate on a regular basis with Security Officials through correspondences and/or by phone for missing information and/or clarifications;
  • Compare the adverse information received as it relates to the Criminal Code;
  • Assist the Resolution of Doubt (ROD) Interview Section in the preparation of the screening files for the Officers to conduct interviews across Canada;
  • Process security screening certificate and briefing forms;
  • Maintain a database of security screening files and ensure compliance;
  • Maintain a manual Bring Forward  and filing system;
  • Organize and prioritize workload;

Job requirements

  • Must have recent experience (within one year) in a Personnel Security Screening and an Organization Security Screening environment.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in assisting/communicating with the general public.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the use of micro-computers and related software such as MS Office, WordPerfect, AmiPro, Lotus 123.
  • Must have recent experience in maintaining both an electronic and manual filing system.
  • Must have recent experience (within the last year) in conducting preliminary checks in relation to personnel screening.
  • Must have recent experience (within the last year) liaising with security officials.
  • Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience is required
