Course details and objectives

This course is often confused with WHMIS. Be aware that WHMIS and TDG are not the same.

 

Who needs this training?

TDG training is needed if the types of products that you intend to handle (ship, transport and receive) meets the definition for a dangerous good, as defined in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act and Regulations.

TDG is mandatory for shippers and receivers, truck drivers and everyone working with dangerous goods.

 

Course outline:

This course provides participants with the knowledge they need to confidently work with dangerous goods. It includes the following:

 

  1. Overview of the TDG Regulation
  2. Classification of Dangerous Goods
  3. Packaging
  4. Safety Marks and Labels
  5. Documentation requirements (shipping, waste, delivery etc…)
  6. Reporting procedures
  7. Emergency situation planning and control
  8. Special requirements
  9. Exemptions

 

All participants will receive a certificate valid for 3 years after its date issued.
